In Chinese, the number ten thousand can be used to mean "a lot," and the R&D arm of the Ohio Soybean Council is developing a lot of innovative uses for soybeans.
The Columbus Chinese Chamber's newest member, the Ohio Soybean Council, helps Ohio soybean producers understand their market environment, as well as maximize their opportunities to sell, both domestically and abroad.
The Airable Research Lab, based at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, is one way the Ohio Soybean Council serves Ohio soy producers. Recent lab inventions include soy-based:
Polyol
Plasticizer
Roofing sealant
Flooring coatings
Urethane-modified fatty acid ester that can substitute for petroleum-based chemicals
Acrylated Epoxidized Soy Methyl Ester
Structural Adhesive
The lab has also developed soy-based vodka!
